DIOCESAN TRESURER

The Diocese of West Lango with her major core values as fundamental principles and beliefs that guides her Christians, leaders, partners and institutions to enable her fulfill her visions and missions; The finance policy that the Diocese has come up with has eased departmental work so much easily on;

• Method of documentation review of various documents which includes finance reports, previous funding sources and various accounting documents.
• A policy that allow persons’ interactions with Diocesan Financial stake holders of the diocese and how money in the diocese can be managed, including budgeting process etcetera that will soon improve on the financial status of the diocese

The department therefore has the plan of reaching out the archdeaconries for the purposes of;

• Awareness creation on financial utilization, control and management
• Teaching on giving for excelling church.
• Having heart of faithfulness for church money.
• Training clergy and leaders on principles of annual planning and budgeting at zonal levels.

Conclusion:

The Diocese experienced great challenges during COVID – 19 lock down for the last two years that affected much of collection from Christians as the main source of income to the diocese.

Due to prolonged dry season that was experienced last year coupled with subsequent lockdown, our giving is still low even now that our churches are fully opened. Christians therefore need to be encouraged in fulfilling their obligations towards offering for church growth.
